Town of Oyster Bay – Hicksville Parking Garage

Project: Rehabilitation of the Hicksville Parking Garage
Industry: Municipal

Lizardos prepared contract documents for the mechanical/electrical rehabilitation of the Town of Oyster Bay Parking Garage located at the intersection of Duffy Avenue and Newbridge Road in Hicksville. The replacement of the roadway and parking areas necessitated the replacement of electrical lighting and security wiring for which Lizardos designed replacement lighting and security camera placement with surface mounted conduit connecting to existing circuits. Mechanical design included heating and air conditioning of the elevator lobbies utilizing electrical heaters and split-system air conditioning units. A ruggedized gas detection system was designed for the sub-grade Parking Levels 1 and 2. The detection system provides variable speed control of supply and exhaust fans to prevent the accumulation of carbon monoxide or auto exhaust fumes below grade. Design included a nitrogen pressurization system for the existing dry-pipe fire sprinkler system. Portions of the sprinkler system were also designed to be removed and reinstalled due to the concrete roadway and parking area rehabilitation effort.
