Kedrion Biopharma – Rhogam Engineering Modifications

Kedrion Biopharma is a company involved with the processing of human blood plasma for therapeutic purposes. One application of their plasma Fractionation Unit is to extract components from blood plasma for the treatment of RH factor in pregnant women. Lizardos designed certain improvements to the Fractionation Unit to better control the glycol cooling of the fractionation tank jackets and the Sharples centrifuges. The improvements included a cold glycol recirculation loop with pump and electric heater, along with control valves, glycol flow meters and RTD’s all controlled by the existing PLC Control System.
